Christmas Shopping List #1: Kids' Clothes

Almost everyone has their Christmas shopping list and of course, for a Mom, kids' clothes will not be off that special list. Buying clothes for the kids can be a mix of delight and excitement for babies and toddlers but can also be a challenge for the tween and teens.

Planning and making a list before heading to the department store is one key to save - time and money of course! Now that I have two kids, I will have to drop by on different clothing sections. Aside from looking for the correct children's clothing sizes , a wise buyer has to consider the cost and quality too just like what's available at The White Company. We have to keep in mind that kids especially babies grow fast, so it is best to always get the next bigger size there is. Also, it is never a sin to get clothes that are on bargain whether online or directly from the clothing store.

I make it a point to also sort, take inventory and pull out outgrown clothes before I shop for my elder daughter. These clothes either go for donating, selling, storing or given to a younger or smaller kid friend or relative. I also check what my fourth grader have in mind, clothing style and preference that is. By her age, she's started to develop her own sense of style. All I can do now is discuss the limitations regarding styles and costs.

Same here. I haven't even started with my whole christmas list. for the past 5 years I have always bought toys for the kids. Guess its time to buy clothes too.

i like it when you consider the items on sale or bargain. why not? these days, you need to be practical and wise.

It really helps to let the child know what is your budget and what is on the list and stick with it or below it (like bargains). :)

Sometimes, it is hard going through each item in the Christmas shopping list. I have to admit, I haven't started my gift shopping yet. OMG!

I recently asked my daughter if what are the things she like for christmas, she always ask for TOYS, despite that fact that she had a lot of toys already :(

You're right, it's wise to buy the next larger size for kids especially for non-everyday clothes, as they grow really fast.

that's the practice we've been doing for the past years, since the Godparents, aunts, etc. will hoard your kids with toys this christmas. We on the other hand choose clothing, shoes and most specially books for the kids. :) Try clearance sale abroad, amazing prices for kid's clothes.

I would suggest going to Centris Sunday Market to buy kid's clothes at really bargain prices.

You can also bring your old denim pants there and then have them made to bags, which you can give to your friends this christmasm. Just find the stall of craftcha

You bring up some great points! I hate when I purchase clothes that I may have purchased before that are similar to ones they already have.

having 2 boys, my younger son mostly gets his big brother's hand-me-downs. oh, i like looking around for bargains! it's like treasure hunting.

so true, you have to list things prior to your search. it also helps maximize shopping time.
