Shadow Shot Sunday: Brigada Eskwela, 2011

The Department of Education just recently started their 2011 Brigada Eskwela program. It's nice to realize that a lot of people, even companies are joining this brigade with their manpower support and material donations. The Philippine Army, in cooperation with DepEd participated the National Maintenance Week.

Just so you'd know, Brigada Eskwela started in 2003. In cooperation with civic organizations, parents, students and NGOs, this annual activity by the DepEd intend to help public schools in the clean up and repair at least before each school year starts.

This but a nice way to reach out and help, right?

Recognition Day

It was just last Wednesday when Marian School of Q.C. celebrated their Recognition Day.

Once again, Keanna made us proud by bringing home 2 medals. She was given a gold medal for winning 1st place in the English Declamation contest and a bronze one for being 3rd Honor.


She was invited as well to show her winning piece as an intermission.
It was also the first time that little sister Roneese attended a school activity and Ate Keanna is so proud to introduce her sister to her teachers and classmates.

Warp it creatively

I found a "Math notebook" listed in Keanna's school supplies list..Wow! A math notebook for a 1st grader?
I cannot find something that doesn't have a spring on it so decided to stitch it instead...

I was about to wrap it with the plastic cover when I noticed that it isn't "inviting" for my grade 1 kiddo. An idea lit up!

I grabbed one colored paper, some tape and a cutie sticker too.
Then,
