Double TYs

It is a big day for Haley Roneese, my 2nd daughter. It is her 4th month today and we are so grateful. I posted updated pictures of her in my FB account.

What can I say? As a Mom, I've been so amazed how fast they grow up. It wasn't too long ago when I was still carrying Ate Keanna in my arms and now it is her who's very eager to carry her sister. They are so fond of each other. As one of Roey's (baby's nickname) milestones, she squeals at the sight of her Dad or her big sister Keanna. She would smile and laugh whenever Keanna starts to point to her nose or touch her cheeks. It is so overwhelming to watch them having fun. I really thank GOD for so many blessings, most importantly, for having Roey and K. The photo insert is me with Roey and it was Keanna who took the shot.

The second reason why I'd like to send my double thanks is that Ate K won 1st place in their declamation contest yesterday. The winners were announced, we've heard their names, Keanna not included. I was saddened but in question, honestly. I found myself already thinking of the right way on how will I approach either the judges or announcer just to inquire why Keanna didn't win. She delivered her piece with mastery which is 30% of the criteria. Her classmate did well too but somehow made a mistake in his delivery. That same mistake happened with Keanna too, last year. She didn't win that time, didn't make it even just a 3rd placer. Good thing, Mr. Antonio Go which is one of the judges noticed the mistake (he's really keen about it as we all know - he's the man behind the fight against error filled books) and stood up, said something and Mr. Dizon went on ahead and announced that Keanna won 1st place too. Having heard her name was announced, Keanna delightfully approached me and we walked up to the stage. I'm so proud of her and really thankful that the award brought back her confidence. This was her 1st award in declamation since Grade school. She never failed getting an award though in the same field when it was her Kinder and Preparatory years. For once, I thought I'll accompany a sobbing princess, haha! I have a video of Keanna delivering her piece and took pictures of her classmates too. Congrats my sweetie, keep up the good work!

With all these, I have not but just double TYs... I have EVERYTHING to thank for. To HIM be the glory! What wonderful it is to be a MOM!

Hard to say goodbye...

They always say there's no good in goodbyes. No one saw me cry for it was because my heart seemed unconscious.Confused maybe...there were so many feelings in it all at the same time. It was my longest stay in a company so far and definitely, it wasn't easy for me.

I have colds and wasn't really feeling well that last day of my shift. I completed the 8 hrs for a surprise! I didn't grab the VGH offer so, in the end, I had a long call. It was about wireless connectivity which in the end I referred out.

I've learned a lot not only from the new account but from the almost 70 months of stay. It was my happiest days working. I never thought I'd last that long and wanting to stay more. But I guess, I had enough of it. I had my time and it's about right for the young ones to shine. In a BPO industry, I've learned that you have to have a deeper sense of sensitivity, responsibility and open-mindedness. What you do isn't all that you learn from training, it's when you're in it already. You have to be creative and artistic too. It is a process you and your mind should absorb thoroughly. It is as well important to be patient bt keen and alert. Every call is like the famous line "LIFE is like a box of chocolates, you'll never know what you're gonna get".

Thanks to everyone, to all my original Dial Family. And to my UVerse family, keep it up guys! Always keep in mind, they can always set the bar high but they're not gonna do that if we... nah! YOU cannot reach it.

Pregnancy, Labor, and Celebration

A kumare was lucky to conceive I think just few wks after our talk of wanting to get preggy and she gave birth last February. Her good news made me more hopeful and excited but made me realize that we've been trying for almost 2 yrs already. The thought, rather the fact made me whisper a different prayer... I constantly wished to conceive but last January, my prayer shifted to something else. I prayed that it's okay if it's not yet the time for me to conceive again, I surrender. I stopped wishing to get pregnant. I told HIM that I'm willing to wait, "IKAW NA PO ANG BAHALA" were exactly my words.

I so LOVE HIM! When I surrendered everything to HIM, that's when HE granted my prayers. I got pregnant and we are all so happy. We are so thankful

My pregnancy isn't easy like when it was with Ate Keanna. I always feel dizzy, sleepy, tired and irritable. I even had those morning sickness you call but they don't occur in the morning but always in the afternoon. Luckily, my schedule at work changed. For 4 yrs and 11 mos, I was on a night or graveyard shift. That sched gave me "irregular periods and hormonal imbalance". I need to ask for help from my OB-Gyne and last August of 2008, my period went back on a regular basis. Last April, I got included to those who were given day shift schedule. It somehow made my "paglilihi" easier. I get to walk after shift at SM Makati and buy anything (food) that I want. Hubby was a lot more supportive this time as well. I craved for kernel corn, fuji apples and Buko Pandan Zagu. I remember hubby gamingly went out one late night just to buy me a kilo of fuji apples. Haha!

I had difficulty traveling especially when my tummy grew bigger. I also felt a slight pain in my left hip which made me walk like a penguin. I had to ask for Leave of Absence several times to rest and ensure our safety. I was told that I might give birth early since my tummy has grown big and it's already low. A nurse from our clinic thought that my 5mo old tummy was already 7 months. No one would want to give birth prematurely of course, I had to go on LOA again. I then decided to go on ML October 1 since by LMP my due date was October 16. It could have been because of rest that baby arrived after 41 wks of pregnancy.

I wanted to give birth first week of October or until October 23. But of course, it is HIS decision that will prevail. I was so "inip" already and can no longer remember how will I know when it's time or how painful it is. Never it was painful when I was to give birth to Keanna. I was a cool mom at that time...7 years ago. I felt pain the night of October 17, I asked hubby to get at least 3-4 hrs of sleep and if the pain will not subside, we'll rush off to the hospital.Since the contractions were of 10-15 mins interval already, I decided to take a bath again at 3am. I guess that decision made baby cool off...just after bathing, contractions were gone. The next week was spent praying, walking, playing scrabble online (haha) and eating. I also decided to research on how to enduce labor naturally and tried few of them last October 26. I squatted and moved my hips, I walked until I am so tired of walking. I ate spicy chili wings for breakfast and lunch. I danced (even if it wasn't included on the list) and I guess those crazy things invited contractions. Yes, I felt pain this time. It was not like this when I was on labor with Keanna. Interval was about 10-20 mins. I kept my cool, hubby was FB-ing when I felt a discharge. I am always uneasy whenever I feel that, so I went to the bathroom to change but found out that it's already "the show". It's not an ordinary discharge but a show of blood. I called out hubby and he got up quickly to check. He went upstairs and changed his clothes while I changed mine too downstairs. (I have my clothes ready in my bag).

I was advised by my OB Gyne to look for a resident doctor first and they guided me to the labor room with an intern to monitor my contractions. The resident OB said she can't tell if I'm fully dilated or not since my cervix is so posterior she can't reach it.Another OB tried after I was admitted at around 1am but said the same thing, it's soft but she can't reach it.Hubby managed to get a room for us but I was left at the labor room. I managed to take a nap, woke up...took few more minutes of sleep and woke up again. The interns are so nice to take good care of me but they can't help to talk about the shape of my tummy. A foreign resident OB said that I have a heart-shaped uterus...heard her said "problem child". Oh please!

At around 7am the contractions were stronger and more painful. The lady who's also in labor said "buti pa ikaw mataas ang tolerance mo sa pain, I can't help but cry and voice out the pain when it contracts"...I told her that I don't want to be loud and noisy 'coz they might decide to perform a CS of me..lol. The foreign OB noticed that I'm already in terrible pain, she got up and performed an IE. My heart doubled its beat, she has big hands oh dear! I was indeed right, it was painful, she too can't reach my cervix at first but she was determined... 6cm according to her. After that IE, I don't want anyone to touch me again, hehe! I was given sedative when it was already almost 8cm. My OB arrived just few mins after and when she performed IE, they immediately decided to bring me to the delivery room even if I wasn't fully dilated yet 'coz baby already pooped inside. At exactly 9:10am, I gave birth to Haley Roneese.

Today marks her first month. It was Keanna's field trip as well and she was accompanied by Lola Siony. So, hubby had to assist me bathing baby and then we went to baby's Pedia for her 2nd Hepa B shot. We bought Pancit Malabon and ice cream, took some pics too when ate arrived. it was a tiring but a happy day for all of us.

Happy 1st month sweetie ROEY!

She's 7 and I'm on my 8th

It has been a while since I last posted a blog. There has been a LOT of happenings in our life that I could have shared but failed to do so. My last post was when I found out that I was 6 wks pregnant, lol... I'm on my 8th month now. Our soon-to-be-Ate Keanna already turned 7 yo last July. Here are some pics of her celebration at Shakey's.

Another year will be added to my age as well in 7 days from now and I'm quite excited 'xoz after that, I'm near to giving birth already. I'm wishing and praying for a safe delivery. We are expecting a healthy baby GIRL too. Yes! Another girl for us and I'd like to name her Roneese. It's just like a female version of Ronald, my hubby. Hehe! It's quite unique right? I'm still to convince or make Daddy decide whether to add Hannah or Daphne to our 2nd baby's name. Keanna just can't wait to see her sibling soon. She's been practicing to be an ATE to her baby doll she named Bea. I find it cute and sweet whenever she talks to her doll, whenever she dresses her up and whenever she sings as well.

Included in the "happenings" of life when I was quiet from blogging are developments in my pregnancy (cravings of course!), work related issues, finding new and long lost friends in FB, and Keanna's school standing and activities too. I had to rest from work for 2 wks last July since I had difficulties travelling from Novaliches to Makati. I was back the day after we celebrated Keanna's 7th birthday party and everyone at work would suggest I go back and rest again since my tummy is as big as a 7 mos pregnant. I had difficulty walking especially when it rains, I had to be extra extra extra careful. We transferred from PBCom building to our new office in the 7th floor of Glorietta 5 which I find better and convenient too. I don't have to ride a cab, a bus or an FX after getting off from Buendia station, At least now, I just have to get off directly at Ayala station and have about a 5mins walk to Glorietta 5. I had to wait to go back on track as per my performance (work) stats to pass before I applied for yet another 2 wks leave of absence. I was suppose to be back last Sept 6 but hubby and I decided to extend it until I give birth then continue with my Maternity Leave. That means, I will say hello work by December. I have to rest as per my OB Gyne's advice 'coz I am anemic and still having difficulties travelling. We were just careful and I also don't want to give birth prematurely. So, even if I'd still like to go work (for extra income of course!), I have to stop and rest for a while... not just for my benefit but mainly for baby.

Keanna on the other hand, is now in Grade 2. The original class when they were in Grade 1 was divided into 2 sections this time. She's joined the History quiz bee and ended 1st runner up (no award though). She's joined Filipino declamation contest but didn't win as well, which she's still accepted with a smile. I'm proud of her still. She had 6 absences already just for the 1st qtr 'coz she got sick which affected her performance. She landed Top 5 of their class for the 1st quarter. She's now working on getting back on track though. Good thing is I'm at home and I can always monitor and help her.

Thanks to a friend (AC) for sharing her new food/recipe blog to us 'coz I was reminded to update mine! Haha! And, I might share some of my recipes too... if I can at least before giving birth by October.
