A Once In A Lifetime

Weddings are a once in a lifetime event, so every woman's dream is for it to be special, if not very special. It's a dream come true. Just like in fairy tales, it is the start of a happy-ever-after. Along with all the excitement is the thrill and so as the worries wedding preparations may bring. It has to be just perfect, right?

I remember to have helped a friend and a cousin during the preparations of their " I Do!" days. Of course, I am part of the entourage too. And at that young age, I have realized that there are indeed a lot to prepare for a special event like weddings. Luckily, there were a lot of magazines you can rely on for party and wedding checklists. Internet wasn't that grand at the time. We are lucky that wedding checklists are now available online. And, it is not just the checklists but so as wedding planners. There are numerous wedding organizers that makes all the preparations an ease for the bride and groom.

From planning every little detail including ideas for unique wedding favours up to the execution of each of these plans in every ceremony that may be included. Now the said planning, preparations and so as decision making takes months so as not to miss any important detail. Yes, even the place card holders for weddings.

There are numerous things we have to consider too in getting a wedding planner for a very special event. Cost, reliability & availability, location, packages and word-of-mouth does help a lot too. You may want to ask friends and relatives too on whom to rely on when it comes to planning your special wedding. The wedding should turn out perfectly - a happy and memorable one - just like every couple's dream.

A Come Back

It has been so long since my last post and I had a joke that this is sort of a resurrection in blogging. A lot of you may wonder why I had to be “gone” for a while. Let me tell you a short but sad story…

October of last year, we’ve noticed that my Mom had a drastic weight loss. Her appetite slowly faded. She would only go for oat meals and the likes. First, she was told that it is just Dyspepsia and even took the medicines prescribed to her. After a month and an ultrasound, it was a mass. Came November 13, she was confined. We brought her to a near and considered one of the best public hospitals in our area. After several tests and endoscopy, we found out that my Mom is suffering from Peri Ampullary tumor. The biopsy says it not cancerous but my Mom kept bleeding and an operation can no longer be performed. She passed away just 10 days before Christmas. It was really hard for us, for me especially. I am an only child and lost my Dad since I was just 7yo. I lost my very best friend.

Now, I seemed to have moved on. Not completely but thanks to my kids & hubby who always make me smile and to my friends who has never failed to make me feel valued. I feel uplifted too with all the support I got from my relatives. Remembering the days spent in the hospital has made me realize a lot of things. Not just related to my Mom’s case but also about life itself, the hospital, the doctors, the RNs and the nursing students, medical procedures, even medical uniforms and a lot about healthy living.

As I’ve mentioned, it was a public hospital so we really can’t expect the BEST of it’s facilities and employees. I’ve noticed that there were some unpleasant nurses. The nursing students are all nice but hesitant most of the time, of course. And, it was also noticeable how medical uniform for nurses has evolved. Before, when you say that the person is a nurse, you would only imagine them wearing plain white top and skirt. But now, medical uniforms has improved. In fact, I’ve found out that there were several medical uniform shops you can find in several areas that sell cool yet presentable medical scrubs. Not to mention that these medical uniforms online are very much an easy access too. I find the new scrubs to be comfortable to everyone who wears it. I just wish that the hospital would be able to generate funds to improve its facilities and of course, change the old linens they have and so as provide nice medical uniforms to its employees. Anyways, there are plenty of medical scrubs for sale, right? Perhaps by doing so, those unpleasant nurses I came across with may be able to feel and realize how they should value not just their job but also the people who badly needs their help. Some of the employees doesn’t seem to be happy with what they were doing. I may not be able to tell or determine the exact reason why but for sure there were many factors that affect how they perform and how they react. And mind you, grooming can be a factor too.

I was supposedly to include a short video clip as a tribute to my Mom but I haven’t finished editing it yet. Plus, I need to find a software where the file can be converted to an extension that Blogger, YouTube and Facebook can understand. I guess I will have to post it in my next blog.

My VP, My VP

Told Mommy that she won the most number of votes for VP position in their classroom...but she nominated herself. Hehe!

Negative: Some people may think that she's so aggresive.
Positive: She did what she can to achieve what she wanted.

Kids nowadays...

She'll be 8 by July. In 3rd grade at Marian School of Quezon City. Wakes up at 4am, ready for her school service by 5:30am and classes starts at 7:20 'til past 2PM.
I miss her.

8 years

Happy Anniversary to my hubby, RONALD!

It has been 8 years when we promised to be with each other through thick and thin, through sickness and health...and I am hopeful we last a lifetime!

I was just 12 when I first met him. He was a classmate when I was just in 1st year High School. It was so cute to reminisce that we both liked each other, in other words...I had a crush on him and vice versa. We always exchange letters at that time though there were other girls that were linked to him. When he had the courage to ask if I'd like to be his girlfriend, I had to turn him down. I just had to stick to my promise that I'll finish HS without having any BFs. He was totally saddened and gave me back all the letters I gave him. =( I did the same though, haha!
I never got to talk to him after that, even after HS graduation.

It was after almost 10 years when he saw me while working at a movie house. He thought I didn't recognize him but he was wrong. That moment brought back the memories and started it all over again.

Now, that's quite a part of our love story. Today, we celebrate our 8th civil wedding anniversary. Thank GOD for all the blessings HE showered upon us.

Oh, BTW, we celebrate the same anniversary date with our couple friend Ramil and Cristy!

F I V E

Haley Roneese
or simply ROEY just celebrated her 5th month this 27th of March.

As always, the family had something special to eat. LOL!
I cooked Carbonara for everyone in the family to share.
We, Filipinos always make it a point that there's "pancit" or spaghetti in every birthday. I do that every month, honestly! If I can't cook, then we'll have to buy instead. It became a tradition to us even when it was with Ate Keanna.

In her stroller. Excited to be outside.

I've noticed too that she likes looking directly at the camera...
and smiles of course.

I had her lick a slice of an apple and when I took it back she cried.

It was her first time to taste solids. I'm not giving anything yet to her, wanting it to be on her 6th instead. She's an opposite of her big sister. Ate Keanna loves mango and rarely eat apples. But, Roey here I guess will love what I craved for when I was still pregnant of her... Fuji Apples!

Sisters...My Life!

You may want to take that double look again. Yes! The babies in the picture are my daughters. Keanna Steffi on the left side has thicker hair and a little smaller than Haley Roneese on the right. I managed to keep that same Powerpuff Girls dress and lucky Roey is still able to wear it. It's a backless dress which is so in time for the summer.

I've been wanting to post this since last week but our PC's USB ports failed me. A lot of people say that Roey is bigger and fairer than Keanna but we can't deny the fact that they have similarities too. While I was in the process of editing Keanna's 4th month pic, my MIL saw me and thought that the baby in the picture was Roey. Haha!

Basically looking at their pictures gives me an inner sense of happiness. Children, even just in pictures does it always. They can easily swipe that sadness or stress away. They make wonders! Indeed, our children are our strength, our joy...
our LIFE!

Look at my kids now...

All I can say is they're my everything!
I love my KIDS!

To my Mommy friends out there, go grab those cameras and post those pics away!

Blessed to have my Mom

I am an only child, lost my Dad since I was 7 years old so who else do I have? I have one of the best Moms in the world. I told her that when I marry I'll tag her along, by hook or by crook my spouse should agree. Good thing that Ronald understands our situation and he too, liked the idea of having my Mama with us to assist me with the kids as well.
It was just recently when my Mama had to arrange some errors in her SSS contributions. As we are all aware of, you have to be early to avoid the long wait. I can't accompany her because I have to attend to Roneese so she went there alone. There, she met senior citizens just like her, older than her in fact. After she reported everything about her contributions, one or two of the other seniors asked her to come with them. They went straight ahead to QC Hall and was given like a privilege card. It was a card they have to present at the cinema every time they watch a movie for free! Yes! FREE! Seniors here in Quezon City and in the nearby cities too are given the privilege of watching movies for free every Mondays and Tuesdays. They can watch any movie they want in it's first screening only. Again, she has to be early.

Yesterday, I asked her to go out, relax and see a movie. She gained a friend after doing so. She told me that Aling Lily is a teacher who was also out alone yesterday. They watched at the Trinoma mall and guess which movie it was? Hmmm...

"I Miss You Like Crazy"

Haha! I envy my Mama. Some 2 weeks ago, she watched "Paano Na Kaya" of Kim and Gerald. I haven't seen a movie for a year or so! But. it's alright! It was only her time off my kids, she deserves it. She deserves all the love we can give her. I really thank GOD for such a loving and understanding Mama HE chose for me. I'm so honored and grateful.

Hope I can join sometime, Mama!

Best advice from a 6 yo kid

I was once sad and teary-eyed when my daughter came closer and gave me a hug. Then, she said:

"Hayaan mo na lang po Mom, wag mo na lang isipin yun. Pag naiiyak ka, naiiyak din ako eh! Ang isipin mo na lang is magkasama tayo."
("Let it be Mom, don't think about it anymore. It makes me cry too when I see you cry. Just remember that we're here together.")

So instead of giving in to cry, I smiled. I was surprised to hear complete set of Tagalog sentences from her plus it was so meaningful that it really touched my heart. I almost melt. I'm so thankful that in a way, she somehow understands situations in LIFE. Hays, I wish that she continue to grow as sweet and understanding as she is now.

I am so thankful of having you my dear KEANNA. And did I say Mommy is so proud of you too? Hugs to you my dearest, you're the BEST! Mwah!
