SAHM for 2 weeks

I promised Keanna that I will personally attend to her and accompany her to school once nakapag LOA ako from work. She cannot forget it, even the dates where I start my 2 week long vacation up to the date where I go back to work. March 23 to April 5, 2008...sarap ng bakasyon pero umpisa pa lang, nakakalula ang list of things to do ko..A week has passed and these are my days at school. I wake up early to take a shower with Keanna, dahil gusto nya kung hindi kami sabay...ako pa rin magpapaligo sa kanya. The first Sunday I took time to finish the Valedictory address for her, printed it and passed last Monday. It was checked by the Director. The first time I accompanied and waited for Keanna the whole time sa school was way back last year when she was in Kinder, nainip ako that time. So, I always have something to read pag may time ako to wait for her at school. But last monday was different. Inihatid kami ni Daddy sa school at iniwan na nya ako to wait for Keanna..hindi ako nainip. Because it was Keanna's 1st day of Graduation practice.

I was a little far kaya medyo malabo yung kuha.Keanna was 3rd,front row from right.
The next day, hindi na kami naihatid ni Daddy but he fetched us and we went straight ahead to Jollibee Sangandaan-T.Sora branch..Daddy gave in sa pangungulit ni Keanna to have lunch there.

On the 3rd day, parang nasanay na rin ako na super tiyaga sa panunuod at paghihintay.. but since Daddy can't fetch us..we decided to go to SM. I bough Keanna a crown tiara, a ring and earrings. She asked me not to buy myself a new blouse na, coz I have something to wear na nga naman on her Graduation day. I told her that I want to look beautiful on that special day coz I will be going up to the stage and there will be plenty of people..she said" kahit hindi ka naman beautiful Mommy, love pa rin kita kaya wag ka na bumili ng blouse blouse dyan"..LOL! And oh, before I forget, that was also the day she first read her valedictory adress..here's the pic..

The fourth day, we were with Daddy again and right after school, we went to Howmart Road (Royal). Mama was there, naglilibang sa pagtitinda ng Halo-Halo..hehe! It was super init that time so we gave in to Keanna's request for a small cup of the cold treat..yum!

And on that Friday, we went home a little late. We have the invites, and the Toga. Our precious daughter was so excited to try her toga and have her hair curled. I agreed to curl her hair to add volume kasi ang liit ng face nya. I have to do it a night before the Grad coz her hair is a total oppposite of mine. Super bagsak at dulas ng hair nya and never did I succeed in curling it to last for hours. She had fever that Friday too, we were a little worried 'coz her temp might soar high, so eto si Mommy, round-the-clock and pagbabantay at on time dapat ang gamot. Kahit matamlay, she agreed to have her hairs curled, maybe because she really wants to see herself in a new do.

Our Saturday was a blast. Total mixed emotions.. I was happy, I was a little angry (not on Keanna), I was worried and I was sad, and was tuliro..haha! Happy for my little girl's achievement. A little angry dahil late si daddy, he came from work pa kasi. =( Worried, dahil super tamlay ni Keanna, though she managed to recite her speech. Sad coz we were expecting to celebrate that day with our (Ronald and mine) HS friends (happens to be Ninongs and Ninangs of Keanna) but they can't come..other friends have works to attenbd to and some have to leave for their provinces. hayzz...Tuliro dahil na rin sa dami ng emotion..haha!

All in all it was a day of celebration.... my girl made it..bye bye Preschool. We just hope that she'll continue her good academic standing up to College (?).. Congrats anak. My first week off work was worth it..I will definitely miss our day-long bonding. Love you anak.

A Prayer

This was a text message from a friend in Buhi, Camarines Sur... A Lenten Prayer... Thought it is nice to share and to say over and over...

Lord,enlighten what is dark in me;
Strenghten what is weak in me;
Mend what is broken in me;
Bind what is bruised in me;
Heal what is sick in me;
Straighten what is crooked in me;
and
Revive whatever Peace and Love have died in me...
Amen.

"How to raise a child who listens well"

This is from http://parentcenter.babycenter.com ...

Find it helpful especially to us working parents. Yesterday, I woke up and heard a Mommy neighbor who's very mad at her eldest son. They were both shouting, I was saddened. And to be honest natatakot din ako na baka dumating din ako sa ganung point na my kid won't listen to me na and treats me as if I'm not her Mom.

Ronald said na it's how you nurture your children. And it's important not just to have a "happy"surrounding, but talking is important too. No matter how tired we get, we have to personally talk to our child, if may mali kaming naririnig from her...correct it at first hand bago na matatak sa isip nya. I'm still learning a lot of parent tricks that's why I
subscribed to Parent Center and here's what they suggest on:

"How to raise a child who listens well"

Be a good listener yourself
Give clear, simple directions for everyday tasks
Praise good listening
Say what you mean
Be consistent about consequences
Read aloud together
Play listening games

Now, these are just the highlights. If you want to read the whole article itself, here's the link: http://parentcenter.babycenter.com/0_how-to-raise-a-child-who-listens-well_64516.pc

SAHM Project: A Humbling Experience

I found a new circle of friends through Girltalk . There, I get to bond with fellow mommies even just through msgs and threads. I'm still learning a lot as a mom, honestly and having my online "amigas" (hehe!) helped me a lot.

It was mid November, when Lemonade (Joy Cruz) thought of an EB-and-orphanage-reach-out activity for us mommies. I was so excited 'coz I was also thinking of how fun it would be if we all get to meet. It was so in time that Joy posted her idea of a get together party for mommies and kids. A lot of use agreed and pledged their participation of course and everyone got so
excited. We are to have a get-together-party and our kids will enjoy too plus we're to give anything we can to an orphanage of course, to share all the blessings we received.

Remember, these are stage mommies and they've won a lot of contests already haha! Others are so lucky to have their own commercials too.

And since the planned date (December 15) is just few days away from the time we thought of this event, plus I think it was the excitement that pushed me to be
"atribida" in a way and took care of the venue sana. Sadly, Jollibee in Shangrila Mall is fully booked for December, the offered days and hours will not suit stage moms available days at all. We have to cancel the Jollibee party idea and Joy suggested an activity in Fully Booked at Bonifacio High Street. I'm still game with the idea 'coz my daughter haven't been there and I really want to meet up these friendly mommies and the kiddos too. Knowing that she's gonna be the "ATE", she got a little too excited.

Sadly, a lot backed out 'coz of sched conflicts, Christmas parties, family reunions and other things to attend to. There were few who agreed to come and when December 15 came, kami na lang ni Joy and Bea dapat ang mag-meet but due to unfortunate events (hehe! si hubby kasi!)...Keanna and I didn't make it. It was only Joy who came to Fully Booked that day..sayang talaga and I'm so *hiya kay Joy 'coz last minute pa ako nag back out.

Then we again planned for another date and set it January instead. As I've posted on out thread, even if may shift ako or galing man ako work the day the activity pushes through, I'll still go. This was my first time, even though I've been thinking of it for the past few years.

I wanna let Keanna remember the "Love" you share in giving as well. This will definitely a great experience for her.

Thanks for LovingMom's (Doc Patricia) effort of pushing through our project . If not for her, baka hindi uli natuloy. Thanks as well to all stage mommies esp to Lemonade, for inspiring us more to share our blessings no matter how small they are. Thanks to Earthangel (Lesley Gozon) that though hindi physically present ay nag eztend pa rin ng help to the less fortunate kids. Bless you Mommies and your families as well.

I was a little shy 'coz Doc Patricia fetched us pa @Mcdo North Ave corner Mindanao Ave (actually nauna pa sya sa amin dumating sa meeting place). Apologies Doc! It was so nice to finally have met you, yun pa lang sarap na ng feeling then the happiness multiplied when we saw the kids. They sang a Christmas song and their "Thank You" song too.

Doc Peachy, tama si Lola kanina, you are indeed beautiful inside out...ganda ng aura mo 'coz you make it a point to help and reach out to people. It was a very nice experience that we will not ever forget. I'm sure Adriel. Keanna & Banky will remember this "humbling experience".

I'll make it a point na from now on to at least be part of activities like this even once a year at least. These good deeds are the ones we want to impart to our children. We want them to realize that they are so lucky to have parents like us and let them learn as well how to show their "Thank Yous" by sharing ans helping others that are needy. Sabi nga ni Keanna, she learned from Barney that "SHARING IS FUN, and when you share, you win friends".

May we continue to be blessed and guided by Him above. Have a fruitful & great year ahead everyone!

GrandMAMA

Mommy is an only child and Lolo passed away already 23 yrs ago, so where else would my GrandMama stay but with Mommy..together forever..hehe! Now that I'm here, Mama without hesitation guided Mommy to take care of me...actually, it was really Mama who stood there for me 'coz Mom and Dad have their jobs. In short, I didn't experience having any nanny at all, just my Lola. With her, Mommy, wherever she is, has no worries. Mama is so kind and she can be classified as a cool Mom to my Mommy and cool Lola to me. hehe! Here are some of her latest pics..of course, with me. I really wanna thank her for being there..always!
