Holidays With Friends

I can say that I have been so blessed to have a happy childhood and so as gained many friends too. The memories and experiences we've all shared are definitely worth looking back. We all can't help but feel nostalgic during the holidays, right?

Here are 5 old photos with friends. Go ahead and look for me, if you can. =)

Cristina, Lyn, Mina, Jo, Stef, Amphy and Vincent

And now, here are our latest photos together. We had a small get together last December 17 at Jo's place and it was really fun. Ate Dylin who we believed to be in Hong Kong surprised us by her presence. We had a chance to look back at past. Our craziness & childish ways before are now things that we can laugh about. Each of us has something to share and shared. Our thoughts and experiences are always considered as a "learning" to each one of us. I truly treasure my childhood friends. I wouldn't go on the details but time and chances have tested us. For me, our friendship is spelled F-O-R-E-V-E-R!

We will have another get together soon. And, I am really looking forward to it. Happy holidays everyone!

First Death Anniversary

It was also December last year when my mama bid her farewell and joined our creator in heaven. Last Thursday, we visited her grave and reminisced how wonderful she was for all us. Both my daughters, 5 of my cousins and Mama's 3 sisters were with me as we pay tribute to our beloved, Salvacion. I showed them the AVP I made for Mama months ago. In it were old photos and it brought back memories and laughter too.

I may miss Mama a lot but life has to move on. I always tell and remind myself to be strong for my kids. I always mention that I want to be like Mama, in many ways. I regret not to have fulfilled some her dreams for the family but I can still do it for my kids.

We were there until past 6PM. It was nice to have been able to bond with people closest to your heart. There were more photos from the other camera brought by my cousin Divine.

What To Give Him or Her?

The Christmas countdown has started and gift giving is everywhere. Many people have their shopping list on hand and some have already wrapped their presents. Let us face it; this season is not just for kids. Christmas is for everyone. That is the reason why there are parties and exchange gifts. There are even themed gift giving. We normally prepare for something sweet, funny, naughty and sometimes we are required to bring a combination of something small and sexy. I am sure there’s a lot to find of these at Ann Summers . When you come across these themed exchange gifts (where food is not allowed), what do you give him or her?

Something Sweet
For Her
Stuffed Toys – These cuddly stuffed toys are considered sweet the fact the the toy itself somehow represents you as the giver. The receiver can hug and comfort you anytime.
Body Spray/Body Mist – Now these comes in different sizes and scents. Most of the bestseller scents are the sweet ones. Those that has fruity scents are a good choice too.
For Him
Car Perfume – Your guy would definitely appreciate the sweet thought of having a new car perfume. Something that will make him feel manly and fresh all the time even when caught in a heavy traffic.
Statement Shirt – Give your guy a statement shirt that says: “I’m a sweet BF” , “Sweetest Hubby Ever!” or “Proud to be a sweet DAD”.

Something Small and Sexy
For Her
Earrings – a pair of affordable but pretty earrings will be a very good idea for this particular theme. It is undeniably small but adds an appeal of sexiness to every woman.
Stockings or Sexy Lingerie - Black stockings are not big but so sexy when worn under a mini skirt. A sexy lingerie - a brassiere perhaps will be a perfect match to it too.

For Him
Sexy DVD movie – A movie that will excite the man will be perfect for this category. And if you got invited to see the movie with him, don't forget to bring some chips and dips.
Shaving Set – Who wouldn’t be happy to see a sexy newly shaved man?

Something Naughty
For Her
Lust Dust – Something naughty and unusual. I saw one from the net and it even said that the “magical power” of the powdery dust is true.
Do Not Disturb Glow in the dark door sign – Very simple but if it has a sexy photo in it, then it will simply ensure a little privacy or intimacy. Knock before you enter!
For Him
Adult Toys from Ann Summers - this is no doubt naughty, right? This particular theme is just easy if you are to give it to a guy.
Foreplay Timer – I did not know there is something like this but believes that this one is a bright idea for newly weds.
I just realized that naughty could be funny too and that some gifts can be categorized to different themes. Well, no matter what theme there is, the real essence is the fun and good act of giving whether you get something in return or not.
Have fun and happy holidays everyone!

Christmas Shopping List #1: Kids' Clothes

Almost everyone has their Christmas shopping list and of course, for a Mom, kids' clothes will not be off that special list. Buying clothes for the kids can be a mix of delight and excitement for babies and toddlers but can also be a challenge for the tween and teens.

Planning and making a list before heading to the department store is one key to save - time and money of course! Now that I have two kids, I will have to drop by on different clothing sections. Aside from looking for the correct children's clothing sizes , a wise buyer has to consider the cost and quality too just like what's available at The White Company. We have to keep in mind that kids especially babies grow fast, so it is best to always get the next bigger size there is. Also, it is never a sin to get clothes that are on bargain whether online or directly from the clothing store.

I make it a point to also sort, take inventory and pull out outgrown clothes before I shop for my elder daughter. These clothes either go for donating, selling, storing or given to a younger or smaller kid friend or relative. I also check what my fourth grader have in mind, clothing style and preference that is. By her age, she's started to develop her own sense of style. All I can do now is discuss the limitations regarding styles and costs.

A JOYful Meet Up

My friend Joy came all the way from the south part of the metro to claim her prize from The Parvati Store at the Trinoma mall. She's lucky to have won in their Facebook contest and shared delicious treats with me.

We had lunch at Pizza Hut and headed to The Parvati Store for the much awaited dessert. Roey and I took home a Carrot Cake and a Triple Decker Chocolate Cheesecake while Joy had a Red Velvet Cake and box of Custaroons. I was surprised that Joy said she's not into cheesecakes after I picked the Triple Decker. I just can't resist how delicious the triple decked cheesecake looked like. The chocolate glazed on top of the soft cheesecake and so as the crunchy sweet crust was so appealing that I cannot say no to the dessert at all. It was sweeter surprise when Joy handed me the bag with the Carrot cake with it.
It was Roey's first time to have met Joy, so she wasn't really responding or reacting to her (yet) when we were having lunch. But, as soon as we escorted Joy to the exit of the Trinoma mall which serves as the entrance to the North Avenue MRT station, she blurted out a loud cry. There was a sudden attachment and the fact that a new friend is leaving, she felt so sad. I have to really be convincing when I told her that they will see each other again and we will see Santa Claus if we head over the grocery store. There wasn't a live Santa but I am glad there was a Santa decor near the giant Christmas tree at the entrance of the grocery store. We dropped by the bank for credit card payment, bought "Bangus Belly Sinigang" at the food court and headed home. I was surprise that the toddler only fell asleep in the cab when we were about to get off but instantly forgot about her nap upon seeing her Dad.

Thank you Joy!
It was a memorable meet up. A delicious one to be exact.
Thank you for the lunch, sweet treats and the cute hand-me-down clothes too!

Call Her Chuchay!

"Chuchay" is her name.

The huggable Teddy Bear was a gift my older daughter received one Christmas. She's kind enough to have allowed her little sister to own it instead. Roey can't talk straight yet but we were surprised she's given the stuffed bear a name.

She would look for Chuchay as soon as her eyes open every morning. She would want Chuchay to be beside her before she get to sleep at night. She wants Chuchay to be with her/bring with her every time we go out. She would allow Chuchay to sit either beside her in a stool or on top of the table when she eats. She was even teary eyed one time looking for Chuchay when she was already holding her (she thought she was holding a bag) haha! She cried out loud when I had to hang Chuchay outside to dry after they took a bath together. I would even catch her talk to the teddy bear and kiss it's nose ( she sucked them before she was one!). Tell me she isn't addicted with Chuchay please!

Now that Ate K showed 2 more Teddy Bears (Tedi & Bubblegum), she wants to carry all 3 with her almost all the time. LoL! I guess it does help her learn many things as well. She would observe and giggle as I play pretend with her. Pretending to feed Chuchay makes her happy and for sure develops her abilities to observe and comprehend. So I guess it is really best to have Ate K and Chuchay as her first close friends.

Early Christmas Gifts

A lovely lovable friend informed me she's here in the Philippines and wanted to meet me and the kids. We had a great time at Conti's in Trinoma. And she's so nice to have given us these:

The kids were excited with their new tees so the next week, they both wore the Gap tees as we head over to Toy Kingdon in SM City The Block.
We were suppose to check out the Richwell sale that day but I was hesitant having them with me plus the fact that it was raining hard at that day. I decided not to go, said "pass" on that big warehouse sale. There's still a lot coming up for sure. Besides, I would need more than enough money so I can also get something for other kids that are special to us. I actually have thought of something for the girls but has not decided yet what to give the boys this year. I need to do some brainstorming to come up of something creative. =)

Thank you friend. You know who you are. GOD bless and keep in touch!

ME Time: Foot Spa

After such a long time, I finally had a chance for a ME time. I had a Foot Spa at Reyes Haircutters. It may have not been an exclusive "ME only" time since I was with Roey, I still had the chance to pamper myself.

We were the first customer that day. I decided to head over the parlor/spa after going to the post office.

At the post office, I was able to claim a pretty headband and bow from Girly Girl Boutique. Sent 4 post cards to friends too.

The Foot Spa procedure cost me just Php250 and it was worth it. It was very soothing and relaxing too. Their staff who took care of me was also a Mom like myself and was very accommodating and nice.

I was hesitant to post my feet photo but I so love the Blue Violet nail polish and decided to still show off my ginger-looking-toes. Ha ha!

My feet felt so smooth, cool and soft right after the procedure. I will definitely go back sometime next month? Or maybe after 6 months! LoL!

Dustless Chalks for Kids

I had this Crayola Dustless Chalk bought for sometime now and had my kids use them just recently.

It may look just like the ordinary chalk but choosing this over the cheaper and ordinary one does have benefits. Aside from the fact that it writes smoother without scratch, it also doesn't break easily.

Having a child with skin asthma ain't easy especially if she loves to doodle a lot. My elder daughter was advised by her dermatologist not to directly hold chalks because it leaves particles in her hand which causes it to itch and develop rashes. In addition, ordinary chalk's particles floats in the air which we get to inhale. With a dustless chalk, this can be avoided. Its particles are too heavy which directly falls to the ground instead of floating. My elder daughter didn't complain of itching after using it. She enjoyed drawing for her younger sister, actually.

2nd Birth Anniversary

An impromptu poem for my daughter, Roey.

I thank HIM for the miracle of life,
I thank HIM for HE knows when the time is right.
I thank HIM for bringing you to our lives,
And bring such a light and happy vibes.
May you grow up to be fulfilled and humble;
God-fearing and strong even when you stumble.
Keep that smile on your face,
Say Please and Thank You so HE will bestow you HIS grace.
May HE give you the best of health,
so much love and many good friends!

Happy 2nd Birthday my bubbly and sweet Haley!

Lots of hugs and kisses for you our little darling!
Mommy loves you and Ate Keanna a lot! Mwah!

A Once In A Lifetime

Weddings are a once in a lifetime event, so every woman's dream is for it to be special, if not very special. It's a dream come true. Just like in fairy tales, it is the start of a happy-ever-after. Along with all the excitement is the thrill and so as the worries wedding preparations may bring. It has to be just perfect, right?

I remember to have helped a friend and a cousin during the preparations of their " I Do!" days. Of course, I am part of the entourage too. And at that young age, I have realized that there are indeed a lot to prepare for a special event like weddings. Luckily, there were a lot of magazines you can rely on for party and wedding checklists. Internet wasn't that grand at the time. We are lucky that wedding checklists are now available online. And, it is not just the checklists but so as wedding planners. There are numerous wedding organizers that makes all the preparations an ease for the bride and groom.

From planning every little detail including ideas for unique wedding favours up to the execution of each of these plans in every ceremony that may be included. Now the said planning, preparations and so as decision making takes months so as not to miss any important detail. Yes, even the place card holders for weddings.

There are numerous things we have to consider too in getting a wedding planner for a very special event. Cost, reliability & availability, location, packages and word-of-mouth does help a lot too. You may want to ask friends and relatives too on whom to rely on when it comes to planning your special wedding. The wedding should turn out perfectly - a happy and memorable one - just like every couple's dream.

Princesses In Style

My girls are growing up so fast and I couldn't help them when they want to have fun at home or when we are out. We attended Isabel's 7th birthday last Saturday which was held at Max's Restaurant, Robinson's Galleria in Ortigas. My girls and so as all the kids were requested to come in their Prince and Princess costumes. Keanna wore her Pink & Blue gown. It was her gown from a friend's wedding when she was asked to be the flower girl. Roey, on the other hand, wore a Red ball dress which is another hand-me-down from Ninang Irish which originally came from another friend in Colorado. Of course, their tiara's completed the princess look.

Since last Saturday was the 10th month since Mama passed away and we were not able to visit her, Roey and I decided to drop by the cemetery last Monday instead. Right after we went to Ate Keanna's school ( it is their exam week), we bought flowers and spent few minutes at Mama's grave.

My little fashionista is turning 2 in few days and in the second photo, she wore yet another hand-me-down set. The White blouse and the denims are again given by Ninang Irish. Her cute blouse is from our friend in CDO and the denims are from North Carolina (if I am not mistaken). Just so you'd know, there were times that she picks what she wants to wear, even in shoes. She's developing her own style at a very young age, I must say.

Offline For A Week

It has been a while since I got the chance to post something here. Why? Well, aside from the lack of time, the big time reason is that we don't have any internet connection for almost 7 days now. What a waste of time, right? I am currently using a Globe Tattoo USB stick and my SIM card to connect to the net. Thanks to a dear friend for lending this to me. I missed a lot of opportunities in blogging and in ODesk. I can't go and rent a computer everyday when I have a toddler in tow. I tried it for 2 hours but realized it's totally difficult. This week has been so stressful. Doubts, fear, anger, irritation, pain, happiness and a lot more type of emotion consisted this week.
I can no longer count as to how many times I have called the technical support department of Globe Broadband to follow up on our connection issues. Now, I think the stress this week has brought me has added colds and a possible UTI..ouch! I'm gonna have to do a water and Buko juice therapy to self heal. I really don't want to rely on taking medicines at once unless necessary. And while we didn't have any internet access, I took time to read, watch, play and do the laundry.

Still I have tons of clothes to iron and fold. Plus, I got the chance to check on my active contracts and tons of tasks awaits me! Haha! Spell good luck to me!

PF: Barney Everyday

Both my girls grew up watching Barney and they both liked Blue and Hi5 too. But, Roey here is quite different from her big sister. She's become so fond of Barney that no one's allowed to use the portable DVD player other than her. So addicted to Barney that no other movie can be played. Well, she agreed to watch Blue's Clues a while ago but did not ask to have it repeated unlike the "Barney Goes To School" which she watched for about 4x yesterday. I actually don't have anything against Barney, it's just that Ate K is already complaining she can't watch Barbie, SSC and Hannah Montana anymore especially when the toddler is awake. Just so you'd know, the portable DVD player was our birthday gift to Ate K last year, so it's hers. The fact gives her the right to complain but as I always tell her, sharing is FUN! And that's what they learned from Barney too. Ha! Ha!

We got a package today containing 3 VCDs, Hi5, Barney & Angelina Ballerina. It was a present from my boss based in UK, John. He's so nice to have Christine of Arteta Online to buy and have these sent to us. Roey got sick if you would remember which somehow made me skip work. My boss understood the situation being a parent himself and insisted to have something for my little girl. It's really nice that we are surrounded by people with good hearts. Thank you John & Christine. Oh! Did you know that Christine makes pretty pettiskirts? Check out her website, The Pettiskirt.

MM: Mommy's Hobby

I have several things to consider as my hobby. For now, I can still name a few like making hair bows, reading, watching TV series, playing online games and with kids, make chocolate lollipops, cook and go out.

I'd like to take photography as a hobby too but for now, it's just too expensive of a hobby for me. I click a lot though and do some editing using Photoshop too. Oh! Digital scrap booking is also a hobby of mine.

My Hair bows are great as gifts.

These choco lollies are nice for party giveaways too.
