Can I Call This Mom's Tantrum?

Sometimes, I wonder how other Moms handle situations that really pisses off a person. My closest friends know me to be calm and patient with my kids. Yes and no!

I have had my share of really-mad-mom moments but rarely outside the four corners of the house. I make it a point to keep my composure and breeding when my girls gives me more than a doze of instant headache. That is especially when we're out - supposedly having fun and making memories. You may wonder why I suddenly made a post of this... I am not sure as well. But, I think this is the easiest way for me to somehow unload, write the feelings down. I often find myself nagging - my girls are like attending an everyday sermon. They both can really transform me - from sweet & demure to a monster mom! It just came to me as a surprise that even of different ages, they can be both impolite, stubborn and self-centered AT THE SAME TIME! Whew! I am just so glad that my Mama has well guided me that I have developed the ability of self-control and I choose my battles. Parenting did not really come with a manual or guide book, you know!

One good thing about my elder daughter is that after our sermon, after her tears and once both our "anger" fade, we still talk. Its as if the BOSS up in heaven signals for us to look into each other's eyes and we end up hugging each other. K also prays the rosary with me for a week now. The image of Virgen Delos Remedios is at home. I am really thankful that both my girls are growing up to be God-fearing.

I just had to post this to release my tantrums. This too shall pass! And after typing that famous phrase, I realized that it is nice to be growing up with my kids. I so LOVE 'em!

MM: Mommy's Hobby

I have several things to consider as my hobby. For now, I can still name a few like making hair bows, reading, watching TV series, playing online games and with kids, make chocolate lollipops, cook and go out.

I'd like to take photography as a hobby too but for now, it's just too expensive of a hobby for me. I click a lot though and do some editing using Photoshop too. Oh! Digital scrap booking is also a hobby of mine.

My Hair bows are great as gifts.

These choco lollies are nice for party giveaways too.

My 9 year old

My favorite stores are Shakey's, McDonald's, and Booksale, just like most of us. Shakey's is where we celebrated Keanna's 7th birthday and Roey's 1st. It is also where we normally held account activities when I was still with Convergys, just like in this photo.

Sylvia & Me

McDonald's is what we most of the time visit if we want fast food. I can name few things I love about it. From the ketchup to it's sundae. LoL! This is where we celebrated Keanna's 1st and 4th birthday which you'll see in the video clip I made for here, that is if you scroll down a bit.

Booksale on the other hand, is where you can go through hundreds of books for all ages at a very nice deal. My daughter Keanna loves Powerbooks too. Just like in this photo.

We often visit National Bookstore as well for school supplies of course and books too! Here's a photo of me and Keanna when I bought her that thin book entitled Camouflage.

Now, I'd like to share this to you even if this doesn't have to do anything with books.
I made this clip just today and I had to look for a music that will be long enough for the slides. I just wish my Ate K will appreciate this.

Happy 9th birth anniversary!
I love you so much!

Apologies my dear, there were part of the music that seemed to have skipped. Hehe!

Dadi

It's well known that men have trouble displaying their emotions, Dadi is not an exception.
He would even rarely pose for the camera so he really has very few photos with our daughters. I have a number of cards made by Keanna for her Dad but I don't have a photo of them so I'll just share some captured moments.
The first time dad way back 2002.

With then 3 yo Keanna Steffi at Baguio.

Silly moments with Keanna.

MM: Mother's Day 2011

This year's Mother's day was very simple. It's quite sad too because it's my first time without a Mom to greet, hug, kiss and thank for. We were at the cemetery last May 6th for it was my Mama's birthday. I offered mass that same day for her and my Dad too. I still can remember that I started receiving gifts from my Mom every Mother's day since I became a mother too. It was so nice of her.

My kids gave me super hugs and kisses that day. I had them enjoy the water outside too. I cooked a simple Carbonara recipe for us, and bought soda which thrilled both my kids. That's basically how simple it was. It became extra special because my daughter Keanna made a Nido greeting card for me using her own Facebook account. I received an email about an approved entry and as to when it will be shown in two major digital billboards.

SM City North EDSA, Annex building
April 28, 2011 - April 30, 2011

Boni Avenue, EDSA
May 12, 2011 - May 14, 2011

Wondering what it says in the card? A very simple message saying: "Thank you for taking care of us. We love you so much!"

Here Comes Baby no.2

When my elder daughter turned 5, hubby and I decided to try to get pregnant again. I had issues with hormonal imbalance because of my work in a contact center so we had to seek help from an OB Gyne. Had little trouble while preggy but glad to have given birth through normal delivery.

We were blessed with another girl after 2 years of trying. I chose the name Haley 'coz I really like the character of Bethany Joy Galeotti in One Tree Hill which I often watch when I was pregnant. Roneese is from a name listed in one of my notes when we were still choosing a name for big sister Keanna. It was originally spelled as Ronice, I just had to change how it's spelled. Hubby agreed with Roey's name since it sounds like it was derived from his name Ronald. He would even tease that Roey looks like him and big sister Keanna would always react to that. Keanna says that Ronald is always in denial that she's the female version of her Dad. I think we were able to "ready" Keanna even before Roey arrived. She was really glad to be an "Ate" (big sister) now. She would even stay inside the crib just to be with her sister.

Roey (her nickname) had to stay 5 more days at the hospital. She "overstayed" in my tummy that she already pooped inside while I was on labor. LoL! I am glad though that I was able to breastfeed her even for just 5 months. It was quite hard for me especially that I was like a pump machine even at work but I love that fulfillment. I would have loved if the milk supply lasted a little longer. How about you, what's your story when your baby arrived? Join us and share, just click on the badges below.

MM & PF: Preggy Tales

Since May is very special to all Mothers, Mommy Moments' themes for the whole month will evolve about us. I am again late in posting since it's Saturday already but as we all know, better late than never, right? So the first topic is about our preggy tales and I have a story to tell. LoL!

Keanna came as an unexpected surprise and Haley is a 2 years in the making baby. I can't find my preggy-of-Keanna photo so I'll just share these instead.

Photo above was taken April of 2009. We took part in the Easter Madonna & Child Fashion show held at Manila Ocean Park. I was 2 months preggo with Roey at that time. I didn't have issues at the early part of my pregnancy with her but had difficulty when I grew bigger.

My tummy grew big and low that it gave me difficulty walking. People who sees me thinks that I'm already on my 9th month of pregnancy even if it was just the 7th. I had to file for a leave of absence twice because traveling from Quezon City to Makati City was tough. I was still working at Convergys at that time and luckily scheduled 5am to 2pm. I was so happy that as soon as I get off from work, the malls are still open and there were plenty of food stalls available for the picky eater me. I craved for Fuji apples, Zagu's Buko Pandan in Baby Z servings and buttered corn kernels from SM Hypermart. I gave birth to Haley Roneese on the same date stated in my UTZ, maxed out the 40 weeks of pregnancy! She weighed 6.2 lbs while Keanna was just 5.5 lbs. The pregnancy and labor with Roey was definitely hard as compared to Keanna. I had to cure UTI twice, vomited several times, felt hip and joint pains, had about 8 hrs of labor, suffered pain with all the IEs done and found out that I have a heart shaped uterus.

As opposed to all the physical pain I had with Roey, I can say that my pregnancy with Keanna wasn't hard even if it was my first. I vomited just once though the issues I had that time was heartburn & minor UTI. I guess my present OB Gyne was right that the burning pain was brought about by the high level of urinary track infection. I'm not sure if the infection is something brought by eating salty French Fries, fried potatoes and sweet Halo Halo which I craved for. I also liked bananas, siomai and Yakult. I know I was to give birth that 23rd of July (2002) when I was awaken as early as 3am with a different kind of pain plus "the show". My Mom said that we should already go to the hospital but I refused since I still would like to wait for the real labor pain and watch "Alicia" which is a telenovela of ABS CBN. I took a bath and dressed up passed 12:30nn, informed hubby about our trip to the hospital (haha!) and gave birth few minutes after 2pm. I only have to give few pushes to my tiny Ate Keanna. I remember to having been so cool while all the nurses were panicking. It's really nice to have MAMA around that time.

All the pain paid off, I'm blessed with 2 lovely and adorable daughters! It was all worth it and I love them both to pieces! And before I forget, I'd like to greet my MAMA a happy birthday (May 06) and happy mother's day too! For more Pink Friday & Mommy Moments entries, just click the badges below. Have fun and happy mother's day to all of us! Cheers!

PF & MM: K & J

I'm joining Mommy Moments and Pink Fridays in one blog post again. The theme for MM today is "birthday photo". I'd like to share one of the happiest birthday celebrations my elder daughter, Keanna had. It was fun because we were able to celebrate it with my & hubby's HS friends, my closest cousins with their kids were there too and my "from-online-to-real-life-friends" attended as well. That includes Jen, fab mom of our darling Jillian Ward (aka Trudis Liit). She was with her daughters Jermaine and Jillian.

After 3 years, it was Jillian's turn to celebrate her 6th birthday. We are privileged to have been invited. We definitely enjoyed the star-studded party at McDonald's T.Morato where we've seen a LOT of pinks too. Keanna got her hair curled as she have requested and wore the skirt I made for her which I have written about in my other blog.

As expected, the birthday celebrant is unstoppable. We really can't identify where she get all the energy. She's definitely very charming, smart and lovable. Her party spelled F-U-N and F-A-B! Of course, aside from the kids, Moms had fun too! I was able to chat a little with my friends. And Oh I was wearing Pink. Ha ha!

Check out other beautiful entries by visiting Mommy Moments and Pink Thoughts or by just clicking the badges below. Happy Friday everyone!

MM: White

If last week's entry was for my elder daughter Keanna, this time it is for Roey. In this post you'll see her different faces wearing White (with a little of Pink too) and how she played with her stuffed teddy bear. =)

A sweet book lover!

Her love of books shows by looking at these photos...
these were taken at Powerbooks, Trinoma.

She was still into DORA The Explorer at that time.

She has a collection of different kinds of books. Just recently bought a book from their school's book fair. She's also bought 2 books before (when I was still pregnant) and said that the books were for her soon-to-be-sister. How sweet no?

A Child in Everyone of Us

It's always a thrill if a child hears the news that you are to visit an amusement center or pa
rk.
My daughter never failed to show so much happiness whenever we visit either Star City, Enchanted Kingdom or just the ones inside the mall.

Here are some more photos of our fun moments...
Some were taken back 2006 and 2008.

First 2 photos were taken at Fun Ranch after her first mag photo shoot. Keanna was a little sick but according to her, she felt better after some rides.

With my cousin Carlson at the Star City, January of 2008.

At Enchanted Kingdom, t'was her first visit there in this photo. Taken 2006.

At the top, we rode the Wheel of Fate. Keanna's 2 time.

These ware taken last October of 2008 during the Family Day celebration of Convergys.

Can you all see the child in me and my husband, Ronald? LOL!

It was only him who was able to convince me to ride the Space Shuttle. There was a long line and I think we've waited for more than an hour for a less than 5 mins ride. I was shivering the whole time we were waiting in line. Haha! But, I had to challenge myself and overcome my fear and so I did it!
When I got off, I felt light and it was as if all the stress brought by so many things were all gone.
I was surprised it felt good. Haha!

Baby Roey is just 8 mos and haven't been in an amusement center yet. Though, her big sister is so looking forward to spend time with little sissy and have fun! fun! fun!

Happy MM!
