Post Christmas Fun

Hubby's high school friends (and their wives) became my friends too. Pare and Mare as we all call each other. It was after Christmas when the new couple Emman and Cherry invited us for an impromptu dinner at Yakimix, SM City North EDSA. As we were really to visit the said mall that day, I decided to inform hubby (who was at work) that I said yes to the invitation. He will catch up after work as we agreed. Sadly, there was also an end year activity at their office which caused him not to be able to join us. As I was capturing moments, I realized that it has been awhile since our group had a gathering like this. Too bad hubby missed the fun. Here are our photos:

And look how grown up K and Isabel now. They are even big sisters already.

The girls really did enjoy the food, the meet up, the mall Christmas display, and of course, the company of life long friends. Ronnie, his wife Pia and their boys missed the fun too. Hopeful for the next meet up, soon!

Can I Call This Mom's Tantrum?

Sometimes, I wonder how other Moms handle situations that really pisses off a person. My closest friends know me to be calm and patient with my kids. Yes and no!

I have had my share of really-mad-mom moments but rarely outside the four corners of the house. I make it a point to keep my composure and breeding when my girls gives me more than a doze of instant headache. That is especially when we're out - supposedly having fun and making memories. You may wonder why I suddenly made a post of this... I am not sure as well. But, I think this is the easiest way for me to somehow unload, write the feelings down. I often find myself nagging - my girls are like attending an everyday sermon. They both can really transform me - from sweet & demure to a monster mom! It just came to me as a surprise that even of different ages, they can be both impolite, stubborn and self-centered AT THE SAME TIME! Whew! I am just so glad that my Mama has well guided me that I have developed the ability of self-control and I choose my battles. Parenting did not really come with a manual or guide book, you know!

One good thing about my elder daughter is that after our sermon, after her tears and once both our "anger" fade, we still talk. Its as if the BOSS up in heaven signals for us to look into each other's eyes and we end up hugging each other. K also prays the rosary with me for a week now. The image of Virgen Delos Remedios is at home. I am really thankful that both my girls are growing up to be God-fearing.

I just had to post this to release my tantrums. This too shall pass! And after typing that famous phrase, I realized that it is nice to be growing up with my kids. I so LOVE 'em!

To Have & To Reminisce

Techy Thursday for GTs today. We'll all post gadgets we treasure or would die to have, and I'm encouraged to share mine. Although, I really couldn't tell as to when I can tag one as MINE. Ha ha! I need to work and earn a lot to get this gadget, oh boy!
a 16.2 MP DSLR camera.

I've been wanting to get a replacement for my digital camera, be it DSLR or not. When I was little, I love to look at beautiful photographs and when I learned to use a camera, I kept buying colored films and ended having several albums at home. My hubby was surprised that I have tons of pictures since he only have a few. Printed photographs are of treasure to me, I guess I'm just really like my Mom. Every photo has its sentimental value especially if its of a person you love. I saw photos of my parents from my archive which I remember to have scanned.
Few more sleeps and it's going to be my parents' month. My Dad would have been 65 on May 2 and Mama 68 on the 6th. I miss them a lot especially Mama. I just remind myself that they're happy to be together now. The thought that they are at a much peaceful and happier place with HIM in heaven just makes me smile.

Unusually tiring weekends

MellowYellowMondayBadge

It was the 1st weekend of the month which gave me a peek of somewhat a busy month.
We attended a friend's send-off party June 5th. It was Sunday the next day and we had a "field trip" (as I call it, kidding aside) to The Medical City in Trinoma. I had my OB perform a pap smear check up. Keanna lined up at the Dermatology section while Roey was first in the list for the 3PM Pediatrician. Good thing that Mama was with me to attend to the kids 'coz if not, whew! Good luck to me!
I was a bit worried about Roey's situation at that time but I managed to keep my cool. I accidentally noticed a lump on her right breast when she was just 5 months old. I had to monitor it for a month and as soon as I got hold of out medical cards, off to the Pedia and had it checked. Dra. Hassan referred us to her friend, Dr. Bernardo, a surgeon. I can't imagine my 7 months old child undergoing a surgery. I whispered a prayer.
After all our check ups, we visited my niece Joan who is working as a trainer at Fitness First in the same mall then we ate at KFC.

We had to wait for the surgeon's clinic schedule which was a Saturday. Hubby, me and Roey waited for him at the clinic for quite an hour or so. There were so many patients that day, I swear! The surgeon was nice and very accommodating. He then told me and hubby that a surgery is unnecessary yet and we can only try warm compress. It is highly possible that the lump was due to the Estrogen Roey got from me at the time I gave birth to her. There could have been too many for her of the said hormone. Now, in the event that Roey feel discomfort and the lump causes her pain, that is when we'll have to go back to the surgeon and a thorough examination will be necessary. We were also assured that there's been no breast cancer for baby's age at all.
The news then gave both me and Ronald a sigh of relief.
Then Sunday afternoon, my Mom and Keanna went to Church. I also received a phone call from my cousins Divine and Esmeeh who invited us over dinner. We didn't bring Roey anymore so this time, we were with big sister Keanna. She happily played with her cousin Kate Jhazreel. Can you see it in their eyes? LOL!

Summer Lovin'

Our latest family picture.
This was taken at WaterCamp Resort in Kawit, Cavite during our annual summer outing. We had fun with our friends since High School and their families as well.
It was Ate Keanna's first time to swim with little sister and at the same time, it was Roey's first pool experience. They both had fun.

Outdoor Fun!

Now this photo was taken more than a year ago when my previous employer held the annual Family Day and at the same time celebrated it's 5th year anniversary. As it clearly show, it is a place called Enchanted Kingdom.
It is the first theme park here in the Philippines and has been here since July, 1995.
It is located in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna which boasts a land area of 17 hectares.

This is what they call Wheel of Fate. It could be scary at first since it is so big and... really, I'm afraid of heights most of the time. =)

My daughter Keanna has been here twice, and she enjoyed both times!

Now, hubby is not really a fan of outdoors so it was his first time during that Family Day. We never thought that somewhere, somehow, there's an eye (thanks to a colleague!) who captured our try in EK's Space shuttle!

Now this is a combined entry for

She's 7 and I'm on my 8th

It has been a while since I last posted a blog. There has been a LOT of happenings in our life that I could have shared but failed to do so. My last post was when I found out that I was 6 wks pregnant, lol... I'm on my 8th month now. Our soon-to-be-Ate Keanna already turned 7 yo last July. Here are some pics of her celebration at Shakey's.

Another year will be added to my age as well in 7 days from now and I'm quite excited 'xoz after that, I'm near to giving birth already. I'm wishing and praying for a safe delivery. We are expecting a healthy baby GIRL too. Yes! Another girl for us and I'd like to name her Roneese. It's just like a female version of Ronald, my hubby. Hehe! It's quite unique right? I'm still to convince or make Daddy decide whether to add Hannah or Daphne to our 2nd baby's name. Keanna just can't wait to see her sibling soon. She's been practicing to be an ATE to her baby doll she named Bea. I find it cute and sweet whenever she talks to her doll, whenever she dresses her up and whenever she sings as well.

Included in the "happenings" of life when I was quiet from blogging are developments in my pregnancy (cravings of course!), work related issues, finding new and long lost friends in FB, and Keanna's school standing and activities too. I had to rest from work for 2 wks last July since I had difficulties travelling from Novaliches to Makati. I was back the day after we celebrated Keanna's 7th birthday party and everyone at work would suggest I go back and rest again since my tummy is as big as a 7 mos pregnant. I had difficulty walking especially when it rains, I had to be extra extra extra careful. We transferred from PBCom building to our new office in the 7th floor of Glorietta 5 which I find better and convenient too. I don't have to ride a cab, a bus or an FX after getting off from Buendia station, At least now, I just have to get off directly at Ayala station and have about a 5mins walk to Glorietta 5. I had to wait to go back on track as per my performance (work) stats to pass before I applied for yet another 2 wks leave of absence. I was suppose to be back last Sept 6 but hubby and I decided to extend it until I give birth then continue with my Maternity Leave. That means, I will say hello work by December. I have to rest as per my OB Gyne's advice 'coz I am anemic and still having difficulties travelling. We were just careful and I also don't want to give birth prematurely. So, even if I'd still like to go work (for extra income of course!), I have to stop and rest for a while... not just for my benefit but mainly for baby.

Keanna on the other hand, is now in Grade 2. The original class when they were in Grade 1 was divided into 2 sections this time. She's joined the History quiz bee and ended 1st runner up (no award though). She's joined Filipino declamation contest but didn't win as well, which she's still accepted with a smile. I'm proud of her still. She had 6 absences already just for the 1st qtr 'coz she got sick which affected her performance. She landed Top 5 of their class for the 1st quarter. She's now working on getting back on track though. Good thing is I'm at home and I can always monitor and help her.

Thanks to a friend (AC) for sharing her new food/recipe blog to us 'coz I was reminded to update mine! Haha! And, I might share some of my recipes too... if I can at least before giving birth by October.
